11:48 p. - 12:23 a: Japanese "Listening Comprehension" worksheet. Listened to "Genkides 2: Track 02" ten times. (Unrelated to my schedule, see below for music reference. The Japanese characters behind the sword above by the way read: "Kee-Ru Bee-Ru" or, not surprisingly, "Kill Bill." See, I'm studying!) 12:23 a. - 12:31 a: Assisted residents looking for somewhere to project a movie on a big screen. After the R.A. on duty shot them down, I suggested they check if the classrooms downstairs were left unlocked. 1:10 a. - 1:46 a: Paused to chat with Erin who came to visit me. Erin's awesome, and writing a section of the Circle K award paper - YAY for helpfulness! 1:47 a. - 2:13 a: Chatted with Sarah online. I love her, and what's she doing up? Sigh. How much easier our relationship would be without Circle K. No wonder everyone in this org are single ladies or gay guys. 2:13 a. - 3:04 a: Returns to content reading project. At

Dredded Award Forms

Image
Arr, it's that time of year again: when Circle K's officers and board has to write essays and fill out forms to send in to the Ohio District of Circle K so that at DCON we can (hopefully) sweep the award scene. I have at least one of my essays done, the others I am not exacty clear on and hope to figure out this afternoon. But I would like to get them mailed either Friday or Saturday, because they need to get to Columbus on Tuesday! So I'm off to get signitures for the cover page in a minute, Vince as Sergent at Arms and Jessica R. as Back-Up #2 Delegate. Also have to print a bunch of papers. Sigh, so busy. But this weekend is going to be AWESOME! Kayla's Birthday party Friday night, Saturday morning get stuff done, Saturday mid-day Scrapbook Party for Circle K (where I plan to bring my family album and work on that, because I'm not sure what else for the club scrapbook we're going to need to do, lol.) Then Saturday night is Kat's birthday party, whoop whoop

Gamer Wannabe

Image
Back in the day, I played video games pretty darned often. I remember the days where I played Nintendo and Gameboy everyday, and even occasionally my brother's Sega. Then I got a Playstation, and David got an Nintendo 64. Then I got a Playstation 2, and David got an XBox. (It's like there's a gaming war right under our own roof!) Then David got a Nintendo Gamecube, and I got a Nintendo DS. Then David got an XBox 360. And that, friends, is where the story ends. Our household, alas, will likely never see a Wii or Playstation 3. I have fallen drastically behind on the gaming world - and frankly with good reason. First of all, college is busy! I'm in this crazy organization you probably haven't heard of, but plenty of other college kids find time to be non-stop Gamers - like Kat's BF Adam. I wanna be a gamer! :( Maybe not a gamer-freak like some people I imagine exist out there, but alot of the recently popular games just don't interest me. 2008 was for all inte

New Classes & Jason Mraz

Image
Haha, so the first week and a half of classes are done. My classes will definitly be handleable this semester. I have Ed Planning with a Santa Claus-like former-principal who has devoted whole class periods so far to telling stories and we got nothing serious done. Then I've got Japanese II, which I need to devote more study time to because I am falling a little behind with the vocab quizes every other day. And I have Ed Equity and Excellence, which I thought would be awful with a bitchy teacher and big projects - but she seems nicer and its more focused on discussion, which means I got to use my labtop all period - mwahahaha. Also taking Content Reading, or how to teach from a book by not teaching from a book -- and I finally got that class' textbook the other day. Lots of reading for that class (surprise). And finally, Macroeconomics - which is by far my hardest class, cause I don't remember squat from microeconomics. Hahahaha, this was Patsy's idea, I just made it a

"I am sick and tired of my phone, ba--b-y..."

Just finished a Verizon survey, and let me rant and praise about them for a minute. First of all, several months ago just before leaving for Korea I wanted to decide on which phone to get - a blackberry storm or an iPhone. Message to past Andrew: SHOULD HAVE GOT AN iPHONE! Ugh, they are so awesome and get awesomer every day. The Blackberry storm? Gets more annoying every day. The other day mine broke and suddenly stopped working and I took it to the place. The guy (Jerimiah I think) was actually AWESOMELY helpful! Much cooler than this annoying dick manager there who is full of himself with his rocker haircut who makes my life complicated whenever I see him. They replaced the phone which was insured, and all is good, just had to replace my contacts. Verizon's network is said to be better than AT&T's, but I'm willing to risk it. I've gone through tons of technical issues with my Storm, for a long time (before a download) it wouldn't answer the phone when I presse

Have a m-A.E. Christmas!

Hahaha, so if you've ever shopped at an American Eagle Outfitters, you know they have music playing in the background. Well, as someone who worked there for a few months during the Christmas season, you quickly realize it's the same so-many songs over and over (as opposed to a radio station. Which, to be fair, also plays the same so-many songs over and over.) But I digress. Anyway, during my orientation they switched to the Holiday CD (what a good metaphorical change of gears...) and since then I really wanted to make a list of the songs. That list has found it's way to the internet, and I wanted to repost it here so as to come back to it and refer at some point. The songs I find particularly note worthy I may link to or something, we'll see. But maybe you'll recognize a name or find a title interesting, so: ========================= The Handsome Furs - "All We Want Baby, Is Everything" The Rolling Stones - "Beast of Burden" The Sounds - "Be

A Survey at 20 years 335 days

Stole this one from Patsy cause I got bored and went to Myspace. Waiting on kick-boxing. The person who hurt you the most calls & needs you, do you go? If they really need me, I always want to help people. How tall is the last person you kissed? Laura suggested Sarah was 5' 4" today, I am not sure of Sarah's exact height but lets that sounds about right. What's on your schedule for tomorrow? Work till 4 am tonight, class at 1:45p tomorrow. So alot of sleeping. Microeconomics, Content Reading, and I'll probably have to buy at least two books. Do you call anyone baby? Not really. Have you ever dressed unlike yourself to impress a girl/guy? I wore a shirt a girl bought me once, that I did not like at all [the shirt] because we'd started dating. Do you fall for people easily? I don't think so. Is it easier to pretend everything's okay for you? I don't pretend things are okay, I freak out until they are okay then relax for like two weeks, and then th

Abandoned Hotel in Kent

Image
WooHoo! First abandoned building of the year is a hotel in Kent that I've been meaning to explore for a while now, but since me and Sarah had been sitting around doing nothing but watch Veronica Mars for DAYS now - we felt the DIRE need to get up and be active. I first noticed this hotel, oh, I want to say a little over a year ago going to a Circle K thing. It looked abandoned then, and it still looks abandoned now. Tons of rooms, and it's connected to a convention center. Sure it was 11 degrees out, but I figured I'd better "mark my territory" so to speak. A view from the side, it was a square with the middle boxed in. We figured we'd better avoid the outer ring if possible, as there were two Very-much still active hotels within eyes sight. The doorways on the right let us into the center which featured: The courtyard. Some trees, a pool, a hot tub, a pool house, and a connection to the convention center. I'll take this moment to point out that my blog is

Happy New Year!

What's my New Year's Resolution? I want to be less ashamed of my family. For years I've been pi$$ed off at their antics and shenanigans visit after visit. But this year I want to be able to invite people over unafraid that mom is wearing hand-me-down guys' clothes, covered in bleach stains or the most recent development of disgust that I WON'T EVEN MENTION! Lets just say next time I go home, I am DEFINITELY taking mom clothes shopping! But back to positives, had a fun night partying with the roommates at our house in Akron. This is Kat's last (and really our only) big party at this house! Eh, maybe not the MOST successful party, but I think we got what we were goin for. Video of the Day: This video is technically an upcoming movie, but lets just split it into two: THE Upcoming Toy Story 3 preview has been released ! It sound average, but I'll definitely see it. Upcoming Movie of the Day: This preview is odd, and there's an entire news article about how
