It's Good to be in D.C.

What a good day! Me and Sarah decided a random, not too planned-ahead road trip was in order the first opportunity we were both able to go over break. And after initially considering Chesapeake Bay, based on a book I once read and my recent taste for mussels - we decided on Washington D.C.! We originally hoped for a two-day trip :( but a bunch of things got in the way on Tuesday, so we ended up leaving pretty late and getting to DC at like 8. The trip down was interesting, got to talk with my baby tons :D and explore different radio stations. And all through Pennsylvania, that Damned rock chased us! By which, I mean to reference the fact that whenever I pass through PA I laugh at the fact that there's tons of signs that say "FALLING ROCK" (pictured), shouldn't it be falling rocks? Is there this one Rock that's falling they're warning us about? This funny thing was first noticed by me and Alex on our trip to Intercourse, PA back in... 07 I think? Anyway, moving...

"But Soon Comes Mister Night..."

Well, Kayla had her 21st Birthday on 1/23/2009 - and it was interesting, definitely. A bunch of the Garfield people came, and a couple Akron Circle K'rs too, and some of Jesse's friends. Best Birthday wishes to Kayla, I truly hope this year and all future ones are blessed with happier and less stressful moments than those that filled her party. :/ My passport seems to have come in, at least I hope so. Even though I work 12-4am tonight, I'll be waking up at 8:30am to welcome mom with a dozen packages - mostly text books. One of which I should have a chapter read by my 11:00 class, so maybe I'll get some redbull, haven't had any since last semester. Though I hate having redbull on an empty stomach, and I never have breakfast, I just seem to have lost my appetite lately. Redbull on an empty stomach just causes me to have this weird kinda shake that can't be healthy. Though, redbull-less, I'm kinda going through that lately too. So I have so much to say to some...

"My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over..."

Those words, spoken so eloquently by President Gerald Ford upon taking the oath following the resignation of President Nixon in 1974, relate quite perfectly in the modern age as well. The Bush Administration, pockmarked with conspiracy and controversy, checkered with unconstitutional practices including but not limited to torture and domestic wire-tapping, and forever tarnishing our national image abroad by mishandled wars in the middle east - is at long last over. At noon, January 20th, 2009 - Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America. Let me just say, WOOHOO! Standing in the crowd of 1.8 million people on the national mall in Washington D.C., elation does not begin to define the mood. Finally the Bush saga is over. We don't have to hear about Rumfelds secrets, Cheney's darth vader-like wackjob-ness, Gonzallez's attorneys, Condi Rice's attempts to fix something, Scooter Libby, or Bushisms ever again. And in Obama's first secon...
