I Had a Dream...

Image
Let me start with: I HAD A DREAM THAT HILLARY CALLED ME! xD She wanted to congratulate me on getting the internship I wanted (I refuse to get my hopes too high up though, still, I want that internship sooo bad!) And I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting a joke played on me so I asked her what Bill's middle name was, lol. That's really all I remember. Then elsewhere in the dream it was raining and I was in a hospital in my house; this was loosely affected by the Mystery Science Theater DVD menu music playing in the background while I napped I'm sure. btw: I have two classes with Natalie this semester, and she attended a committee meeting that Hillary was at! She corrected our teacher about some minute trivial thing and mentioned to me she remembered that day because she knew I would want her to report back to me on Hillary's pantsuit -- which was powder blue btw, lol. But speaking of my classes: Well, 1 week down. Dozens to go. The numbers don't really matt

Cleanin Out My Closet

Not literally, but my desktop. Pretty much since getting this labtop, with it's 500 GB memory I haven't made it a priority to keep the desktop or files too clean. My first desk shift of the year, what better time for some Fall cleaning! (Already 1/4th through my shift, nice!) While I'm at it I'll post a few of the things I've been letting pile up. So, a random thing I wanted to ask you if you remembered: 2X-L . He was a robot, which I brought up to Sarah like a month ago. She did not really remember 2X-L. But we had one growing up, and you put in a cassette with some kind of learning adventure and pressed the buttons to select either the right or wrong answer I guess? I don't really remember how he worked, or why I downloaded a picture of him - and the only thing I remember about him was that I wanted to put him on my blog. Well, here he is, now I can delete it haha. Actually if you look at that 2XL link above, you can see an earlier 80's-version of 2XL.

Well, it's been a hectic week for me. Lots of crazy going on. But things appear to be beginning to settle thankfully. My Japanese class got canceled, which left me with not-enough credits and class starting Monday. I went in, and think I have a method of fixing it an enrolling in a "Modern Regional Geography" class - which I imagine is something like learning where all the countries are and their capitals, lol, which I would have a blast doing! In the spare time I had fixing that crisis, I straightened out my financial aid which is all set and good now. Star Trek update: finally found time to play Star Trek: Online the other day, and they've added a whole bunch of new "diplomacy" missions - so its not all shooting and fighting any more, but it's got puzzle-y ambassadorial missions too now. Woo n.n I'm happy. I was doing a Diplomacy mission on Vulcan when I noticed the Vulcan writing on a pillar looked familiar... ! (The black and white is a re

Cool Star Trek Things!

Haha, I am reeeally behind in updating this I know. I've got two+ major trips worth of pictures to upload, and I only ever find the motivation to babble on about dumb stuff. Well, unfortunately it's gonna be another of those days. The first cool thing I just found was a fancy Vulcan-inspired pen stand ! I don't think it's for sale, at least I can't find a "Buy" or sale price on the site. But the stand is based on the Vulcan's emblem, the "idic" (or I.D.I.C., which stands for their motto "Infinite diversity, in Infinite Combinations." Why an alien race would use an English acronym doesn't really make any more sense than why they all speak English however...) And I thought I'd upload some pictures I have on my computer, in case my computer crashes I have them somewhere! All of them come from the "Christie's Star Trek Auction" -- a giant years long auction of Star Trek props that went on a while back after

Woo, got new shoes. Felt like doing a clothes shopping blog. New Orange Nike's, except the laces are orange not white.   ( Flash Nike SB Dunk Low ) In regards to shoes, since pretty much Elementary school I've only ever got tennis shoes. I don't really feel skater enough, or whatever enough for the most other types of shoes (and not being athletic enough keeps me from getting the too-cool Nike or other athletic shoes. At Sarah's encouragement to expand my horizons however, I went to Journey's at Chapel Hill, and the guy was really annoying but had some good ideas. And though he had the shoe I wanted, he was too annoying about it so I opted to look around more. Which really meant the next day I would get the same pair at Fairlawn. But Fairlawn did not have my size (serves me right...) but they insisted it runs big and to get half a size smaller would be fine. WRONG. Painful, stinging, poking feeling on the outer rim of my foot. I didn't really realize this t

A Symbol of Jest: Particularly Clever Snails

I just got back from a bunch of cool caves in Tennessee, and more about that tonight or tomorrow - but for now, a few funny news articles: In this article from CNN , The New York Times says that the FBI has sent Wikimedia (the Parent company that runs the revered Wikipedia, and all of its sister sites) a letter asking they take the FBI emblem off their website. Ahahahhaha, oh FBI -- when will the government learn not to fight the power, the people. Wikipedia has many many more fans than the FBI I'm sure. But aside from actual favor, the laws the FBI are citing - they are not interpreting them correctly. The law prevents people from using Government logos for the purpose of inpersonating the government, or making money off of them. Wikipedia does neither. Its strange that the FBI would even bother picking this fight which they are not gonna win. But "as a symbol of jest", I felt I should note I am not a member of the FBI, and the FBI does not endorse my blog - nor do any
