DCON Weekend!

Image
So, before I go into my weekend and DCON, can I just say... THIS SHIRT IS EXCELLENT! Final item on my birthday list guys! This is right now my favorite shirt in the world, and I can't even remember where I saw it, I just laughed and copy and pasted it and didn't save the site. But moving on: YAY UNIVERSITY OF AKRON CIRCLE K CLUB! We came back with an astonishing 14 awards this year (granted some of these were honorable mentions, but I'm gonna say that counts as an award.) Including my own Honorable Mention for "Quality Club Member." Just, so many things happened this weekend to blog about everything. There was the ride down, where me kayla and patsy listened to NOW cd's and my music from the 90s/early 2000s. Then the magic show, and shopping, house of delegates, asians in the mall and cops on segways. So, so many things. And so many quotes I can't even remember all of them - but in the TV show that is my life, this is definitly on the top 3 favorite episo

Busy Sort of President's Day

Image
Happy sort'v-President's Day! (Haha, ya get it? Okay, enough with the holiday photo-puns.) So I was about to write "what a great weekend" but today's Tuesday! So in the crazy-University of Akron universe, we got Tuesday off for President's day (which was Monday?) so got to hang and party with the gang! Which was tons of fun, as always, I love my friends. Never a dull moment, particularly the dull moments are full of excitement. So it's not really that nothing happened since my last post, just that I don't feel like posting about it. I've def told the crazy story of my family and the "we're not following the instructions" like a dozen times, but if you want to hear it again I'll reenact it in person for you. But yes, hung with Sarah and Kayla last night which was a bunch of fun. This morning worked 8-10am which was not :( then napped for 2 hours. Then the three of us + patsy, mike, kim, ross and jacob all went and got Swenson'

Happy Singles Awareness Day!

Image
Hahaha, oh man I'm a hoot. No, but really, Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Though, I am quite aware I am single once again on my birthday and this blasted holiday. A fact Patsy so happily pointed out by pointing to all the Valentine's Day decorations we encountered today. (jk Patsy) So, today was fun but also not. There was some downsides that drove me crazy, I got my security deposit on the house all set up nicely, and there was shopping and Chinese food and v**ina's and it was great! The V**ina monologues was so awkward, but so funny, lol. Not always for the reason it was trying to be. For anyone still confused by my last post, If You Seek A my is pronounced "F-U-[See]-K me." Sorry I'm a prude about language on my blog, just the way I am :/ But yes, as far as Birthdays go, this continues on ones that will annoy me - but there were alot of good points that I'm glad happened and I have great friends that I would not trade for the world :D Quote of th

I'm not a Its 4 am

Image
For my good friend Kayla, I would gladly pick up a 4-8 am shift so she may have some fun, especially when I think of how bad her birthday party went. But I am so not a 4am-8am person x_x although I did sleep from 10:30-3, so thats like, 5.5 hours. We'll see, but Thursdays are my crazy-crazy bad busy days, cause I have the most classes and work today. Oh, but I don't work Thursday nights anymore so I'll get to go to bed early. Thats nice. So I bought Grand Theft Auto III and Minority Report for PS2 - and I don't remember how to play either of them, lol. I can't figure out how to get a mission on GTA, and I couldn't figure out how to use weapons or find where I was supposed to go in the brief period I was playing MR. But horray, bought more PS2 games! I'm fairly excited to be getting a house next year, which will hopefully go well, I'm thinking it will. The only trepidation I'm feeling is likely over the change from the security of the dorms. Cause I

Just another Manic Monday

Okay, I've kinda pieced this together between classes all day. But yes, another week is here, this one ends with Friday the 13th -- my birthday! I'm not particularly excited though, we're not really doing anything for it at home or at college :/ ugh, I wish my family celebrated things. So I'm about to head to my history class, but I've found this "Learn Korean" thing on youtube I'm gonna try to utilize. This could prove interesting, I hope. Birthday List Continued: 5. A Barley House Hoodie - 25$ - very cool! T-shirt? Eh, not particularly so. 6. Applewood Books - So, available at Barnes and Noble and certain Government stores ( also online ) [Note: Not Borders...] are a series of, in my opinion, cool little leather-bound-y-looking books on important things in Government. I already own the U.S. Constitution (autographed by Hillary Clinton n.n!) and the Declaration of Independence. But there are some other books in the series I would find interesting an

"On the island,..."

Image
So, boredom has taken over my life. Played Silent Hill a bunch, The Matrix, even watched this "Killer Tomatoes Eat France" movie (at least more than half of it, it seemed to keep going and going after what I'd thought was the climax of the film so I turned it off...) And with a week left till my birthday, its important I get to my list! Oh, but first let me say - for reasons I don't remember I was looking into Islands on Lake Erie, and there are unmanned islands on lake erie! OMG - I want to go to an abandoned island! This one below, Mouse Island I believe, is just big enough for that to be cool, and just close enough to get there by a tiny boat I would be able to rent/get rather than a giant one I can't afford!!! I can't wait til the day I can call mom and say "Hey, I'm trapped on a deserted island..." List of things to do, def. (the reason this is poorly cropped is so I could get the passing boat in for size comparison.) And here's a thing

She's Just Not That into You

Image
ugh, fine, I'll get over her >>; Stubborn till the end, that's the sailor's way. Nah, don't know what the heck I'm talking about, but I'm at work at the desk and feel like continuing my birthday list count-up. 4. The First Season of Veronica Mars on DVD . One of my favorite shows ever, Veronica's wit and humor is the stuff I aspire to be. Not to mention she solves mysteries! You can't get cooler than all that combined into one. And I haven't got a new DVD set in a long time, and I finally have a DVD player again. Quote of the Day: "The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say "no" - they may not be smart enough to say "yes." - Keith Olbermann, The Way I See it #17 (Got this off a Starbucks cup.) Quote of the other Day:
