It's a Beautiful New Day

So I'm not a big fan of a bunch of posts over a short period of time, but just wanted to add some things.

I got my passport today, thanks to moms morning-express delivery service. Thanks to delivery delays, it reads "Issued on January 21st, 2009" -- the exact day a certain someone was sworn in as U.S. Secretary of State (the department responsible for US citizens abroad, as well as all diplomatic and negotiation efforts.) So woohoo for that kinda cool thing. On all the visa pages for stamps, it has quotes from important American individuals -- and Teddy count = 2. His head is on Mount Rushmore on one page, and a quote by him is on another n.n

I understand that life is rarely fair. It hasn't been fair to any of the individuals I idolize or aspire to be. Lincoln, Clinton, Ryan, two Roosevelts and King. Most of those didn't live to see their dream come fruition. All we can do is hope for the best, and work our hardest, and if it isn't enough, at least we can say we did all we could. As a wise little green man once said, "Do, or Do Not. There is no try."
