The Muppets: CDE Chart of 100 Things in Pop Culture

Haha, I remember when I saw The Muppets (2011) in theaters -- which by the way is an OUTSTANDING movie, definitely on my list of movies to buy on DVD -- there is a scene talking to a TV producer about what is and isn't popular these days (producer played by Rashina Jones.) The chart has 100 little icons on it, and I remember thinking "haha, one day I'll freeze frame that and identify all the little jokes.


Today I did. It's not complete though, because upon reading the title: "Key Demographic Analysis of Top 100 Things in Pop Culture" (Subtitle: Ranked in Order of Relative Popularity.) Then at the bottom of the chart, if you look closely, it reads: "Updated.... 4th week of June of the current Year...", subtitled: "Prepared by the Research & Analysis Department of CDE Television..."

Gonna have to click that for the most detail. I ran out of room to draw lines, and I don't think I could make out every single image, but this is a pretty good job. I love that Lady Gaga is square at the center. But I'll try to list what I can here. (I also found this website that has a working list forming, but incomplete.)

Losing all my Drive

First, a hair update. The dying went interestingly to say the least. I was reminded once again of how much of a cry baby I am, can't stand a little scorching burning sensation. While I was aiming for something along the lines of this , Circle K members seem to think I hit more of a Nazi kid from the movie "The Pacifier" -- I've actually never seen it, but Tiffany owns it and I'll have to borrow it sometime. The Magic School Bus: "For Sail!"

So I survived the weekend! What'dya know? On top of that, I finally figured out how uTorrent works, so I was able to download the entire series of The Magic School Bus - which has been helping me through those 4 hour shifts on campus (Am. Eagle is another story...) But it's 6 am, I thought I'd share with you some dazzling discoveries of merchandise and mementos! OMG! I TOTALLY had this toy growing up! :D And boy did I love it. I found it on eBay, but it's 30 bucks - and I don't *need* it, I have my memories from my Childhood, and it's just sit on a shelf somewhere... (NO! Must NOT buy it... fighting... urge...) But it was awesome! Part of the point of this blog is to keep pictures I find for future reference, gotta jog those Childhood Memories some times. Observations on Captain Kirk's Quarters

So I've been in a bit of a Star Trek mood lately, and right now I'm watching the movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country before bed. Having noticed a few things I'd never noticed before, I feel like I should publish them on the internet somewhere! Firstly, I have the utmost respect and love for the people who make the tiny details of Star Trek possible. Mike Okuda in particular, who designed all of the major Starfleet computer screen layouts. And a little random background in case your curious, Star Trek VI is the sixth Star Trek movie that came out a little after Star Trek: The Next Generation aired. It is the last film to focus solely on the original crew, and is set aboard the USS Enterprise-A (the second of six Federation Starships named Enterprise.) So, onto my observations!
