If you're like me, when you go to Barnes and Noble - you want those classic book cover posters on canvas they hang near the ceiling. If you're very like me, you've asked how to purchase them, or where to buy them, to no avail. I'm not sure why all these pictures are such bad quality... And because I'm me, I never gave up on Googling those things -- for years now I've been trying to find them, and the internet is filled with deadends . A lot of people who, like the Victorian House from Sabrina , are trying to answer you without really understanding the question. Without further ado, our website of the day is Candlesbook.com -- the website where you can buy the canvas posters! There are actually a bunch more options than just what Barnes and Noble have purchased, too. Only downside is the canvases of the size at B&N are over $100, and my poor budget can't afford that.

Well, I may still be unemployed -- but at least I have been catching up on my want to actually read books! Even better, some of the books contribute to potential careers I'm studying up for. Complete Book #1 of Summer: Decision Points, by George W. Bush . The memoirs of our immediate past President were at least slightly interesting, and offered a different view of his thought process than I'd ever really been exposed to. He did focus a lot on the decisions that developed him into the person he was, he candidly spoke of his battle with alcoholism, his military service which was a contested point in the 2004 election, and various other "how he came to that conclusion" on policies like embrionic stem cell research. Not particularly ground breaking though, at least I didn't feel like I came away learning "WOW! I NEVER KNEW THAT!" stuff. Complete Book #2 of Summer: Living History, by Hillary Rodham Clinton . I first heard it when we analyzed a page of it for AP English class back in like, 2007 - and I just felt it captured everything I believed in. Travel, adventure and "zany antics" are only the beginning: there is always more, just beyond the next horizon! I really love this quote, and over the years it got demoted off my Facebook info section, so I thought I'd enshrine it here for safe keeping so I never forget it again -- considering for the longest time this evening I thought it was in The Odyssey. As with every summer I don't spend in a foreign country, this year has been a dry one for blog posts. It's not even that I don't have the time, I just feel I don't have that much to blog about. I want to keep as much campaign and Circle K stuff off of here as possible for fear of it getting into the wrong hands. So I'm in White House class right now, and we're in a lecture on the First Lady - and the powerpoint included a pic of First Lady Michelle Obama reading to children. One kid noted the book in the image was Green Eggs and Ham , so I randomly googled it (love having my laptop in class.) Which led me to an interesting story... This is not the picture. My story concerns the case of Wolff v. New Hampshire Department of Corrections . Apparently, an inmate in New Hampshire sued the facility on the basis of the food they were serving him. One of his 'documents' he filed was a hard boiled egg. The judge was not happy about this , and had the egg stricken from the record.
