The Magic School Bus: "For Sail!"

Image
So I survived the weekend! What'dya know? On top of that, I finally figured out how uTorrent works, so I was able to download the entire series of The Magic School Bus - which has been helping me through those 4 hour shifts on campus (Am. Eagle is another story...) But it's 6 am, I thought I'd share with you some dazzling discoveries of merchandise and mementos! OMG! I TOTALLY had this toy growing up! :D And boy did I love it. I found it on eBay, but it's 30 bucks - and I don't *need* it, I have my memories from my Childhood, and it's just sit on a shelf somewhere... (NO! Must NOT buy it... fighting... urge...) But it was awesome! Part of the point of this blog is to keep pictures I find for future reference, gotta jog those Childhood Memories some times. See, the thing came with all those pieces, that fit inside the bus (The roof came off.) I remember being bitter about how of the things the bus could turn into, this drill one never appeared in an episode,

Dull Torture

I'm at the desk, workin job 1 - 6pm to midnight. I'm so tired from turkey right now x_x that and the whole wanting sleep in general. I actually got more sleep than I expected I would, thanks mom for actually cooking the turkey and not making me do it! Got to sleep in till like 11. (From 4am. Ish.) Anyway, I want to sleep - but Can't cause I'm at the desk! Add to that it's only 6:30. When I get off, I'll have enough time to hopefully get like Wendy's if they're open - if not I may drive straight to job 2. I didn't really compensate in my times for the traffic of Black Friday. Anyway, an old friend commented on my Facebook status so I minorly Facebook stalkd them to see what they've been up to, and it said they (and one other of my friends) were a fan of "TFLN." I googled this, and found it stood for "Txts From Last Night." It's a "FML"/"MLIA"-style site of txts the sender doesn't remember from getti

It's a Turkey Day Marathon!

Image
No, not the kind I would be enjoying like say, a marathon of Magic School Bus episodes. A marathon like I would not enjoy, with the running. Pretty much until Monday I have a packed schedule, and that means very little sleep. But I should first appreciate the little happinesses of life, like how 3 of my 4 classes were canceled today! How awesome is that! Japanese, which pretty much had a 0 chance of getting canceled at all this semester. I love it. And my morning class was pretty interesting, got to discuss and watch a few scenes from the movie "Freedom Writers." But my marathon: it's like 4:30, and I'm already dead tired from getting little sleep last night writing 2 papers due today (granted, one only had finishing touches needed, but the other was 10 pages!) Now I work 6-8 at Ritchie, then watching the most recent episode of Heroes with Sarah and likely getting dinner some how (most recent ep: "Thanksgiving.") Then it's work 12-4am, find my way over

Ed Psych-o Bitches

Image
Now I'm feeling guilty.... =( So we just finished our last real Ed Psych class, cause next week is canceled, then Thanksgiving, then another cancel, and then the final. So we had teacher evals today. And the teacher left the room to go down the hall when we filled them out, and we were talking as a class as we filled them out, and I gave her a pretty bad score for reasons I'll explain in a minute. Then as we left we saw her standing outside the room! I don't know if she was out there the whole time or not, but I'm feeling as if she was and feel bad about anything I said. I feel like the first and second weeks of this class just gave me a bad schema for the rest of the semester. On our first online springboard test, I got a question wrong because I used the real definition of a word instead of the ed-psych book definition of the word. And that's pretty much what did it for me, and really that's the only thing I've outright hated about this class. Then the res

水曜日 Night

That's Japanese for "Wednesday" (Suiyoobi.) So I have a bunch of work to get done, and I haven't really gotten any of it done, but not for lack of trying this time. The CA before me at work stayed for like... 50 minutes after his shift ended just kinda chitchatting. Then I've been trying to get this stupid video to embed in a power point for Ed Tech. Now I'm kinda relaxing, even though it's already 2:34 and I have a bunch of things to get done by 3:45! Iie! (That means "No!" in Japanese.) So, if I made a list I think I'd really see all the crazy stuff I need to get done in a day, and do get done in a day. Tonight at work I have to: write this blog, respond to a bunch of emails for Circle K, convert a video as previously described for Ed Tech, then I want to organize my Psych folder a bit so tomorrow night it will be easier to write the final paper. Then tomorrow I'm really busy - got Ed Tech in the morning at 1:45, then going to Grandpa&#

Wowser

Omfg -- so Saturday was like, THE AWESOMEST DAY EVERZ! After the interview, went back to Garf to get some things from home (house was a mess. Stole some gummy bears from like a two pound bag on the coffee table. No toasters, thankfully.) Then went to Sarah's for a few, where my phone gave me a TON of troubles like zomg ><;; but then -- on the way into the car, I got a phone call (and it answered when I clicked answer! What marvelous technology!) And it was American Eagle, and I GOT HIRED n.n!!!!! ^U^ AHHHH! *u* I'm still excited about it. And I went in for training the next morning, 8a-noon. (There was quite a bit of schedule restructuring needed from CA-ing, but we managed to fix it somehow. Thanks hugely to Sarah.) But went in for training, and signing of a confidentiality agreement :/ which means no state secrets on my blog I'm afraid. But anyway, that Saturday night -- got to go see the AP tour with The Secret Handshake, Mayday Parade, The Academy is, and others

The Interview

Image
So - just got back from my group interview at American Eagle Outfitters, wish me luck! I may hear as early as tonight if they want me to come in for training tomorrow morning! I really hope I get it, but if not, I won't be *crushed* -- but I'll be happy that I've made the biggest stride in getting a real job in a while. So, thought I'd let you in on a little behind the scenes commentary on my interview today! First, I didn't even know what to wear!? Do I dress fancy-schmancy, shirt+tie+dress shoes? My first instinct was the mantra "you can't look too professional" but with Sarah and Google's help, I changed my mind. You can in fact look too professional, so I'm quite glad I dropped to one of my button ups with khaki's, and even that may have been too dressy. But yeah, if you ever interview at American Eagle Outfitters, or somewhere similar (maybe this blog is to help people who are interviewing there --) definitly wear *nice* casual. I did

"Sometimes I need..." Myspace Survey

So not all my blogs are stories of my life, sometimes I want to include something simple and easy going. Like a good old myspace survey that you would be notified of whenever your friends took one. Sometimes.. sometimes i just need: a friend to go shopping with, and get my mind off shit, even if we don't buy anything. somtimes i want: to say "Yes, I'll go on that adventure you planned out TODAY!" rather than always be the one to plan adventures. somtimes i like to: go to sporting events, even if I don't understand the rules. sometimes all it takes: to set me into fury is a phone call from mom. somtimes i picture: my life if I had gone to Baldwin-Wallace (Plan B) rather than Akron. sometimes i wish: I was back in high school, where everything was so much simpler... sometimes i find: pop can tabs around the house or city, and take them home with me. sometimes i take: walks around akron at night, you may think it's dangerous, but I find it relaxing. sometimes i l

Change We Can Believe In

Image
So, the other day I was in the mood to change the direction of my life in a few little ways. Most people took my facebook status "like Barack Obama said, it's time for a change!" to be a political reference to one thing or another, either Pres. Obama himself, or the mayoral race in Garfield Heights (Longo, mayor for 27+ years not running for reelection, his long time rival Wagner vs. Vic Colova. I personally voted for Colova after a ridiculous incident I'll talk about another time.) Anyway, it was actually a reference to how stressed I was last week and just wanted to change things up enough that life got more exciting. The hair is helping. Also, after a fun weekend at MAC -- I've stepped down from the Circle K district board. Ugh, I am not too pleased that I was one of the spearheads opposing step-downs at Board Trainer -- but after half a year, it seems like my position is just another layer of unnecessary bureaucracy. I talked to people, and reassured them it

Seatbelts, Everyone!

OOOooooOOOooooooh my god! My shift just got better 20x fold! I have found websites with full Magic School Bus episodes on them *U* !! That's right, my life is complete! omg, the awesomeness! I've already watched an episode where the class learns about the value of air, and air pressure. (Picture of air-canon bus provided) Mrs. Frizzle: "As I always say, like air, my class works best - under pressure." (do-do-do-dododoo...) Can I just take a moment to point out that everything I really need to know about how the world works I learned from the Magic School Bus? This is simply the most awesomest stupendous-est show ever - and was ABSOLUTELY my favorite show as a child. I swear to you - my inspiration for becoming a teacher is Mrs. Frizzle. I used to want to be a 3rd or 4th grade science teacher, until science got annoying and not fun any more (I trace it to about 5th grade) and I hated it, and my grades in it weren't as perfect as I'd've liked. But still, wh

Losing all my Drive

First, a hair update. The dying went interestingly to say the least. I was reminded once again of how much of a cry baby I am, can't stand a little scorching burning sensation. While I was aiming for something along the lines of this , Circle K members seem to think I hit more of a Nazi kid from the movie "The Pacifier" -- I've actually never seen it, but Tiffany owns it and I'll have to borrow it sometime. (Googling a bit, this guy is likely who they're referring to.) Ugh, so had another stressful day. Since waking up I pretty much hadn't had five minutes to just sit down, and literally finally found 3 minutes to eat a Banquet in the middle of the day (roommates judge how they want - when I only have 3 minutes for a meal, I'm really not all that picky.) Got to vote, picked up my check from home, and took a wrong turn on the high way and ended up taking 8 South to 77. (Two separate ways to get to Akron, but taking one to the other was a major waste of

Breaking News: Andrew to get WHITER

Okay, my original title was gonna be "It's Getting Hot in Here" but I changed the main topic of this blog. Just because the house heater is shooting down at me. I've moved now. Well readers, Fall is in full swing and prepare for winter - because you know how short Autumn and Spring are in Ohio. It does remind me of the funny image though, Kyuhun and Van der Kamp are not used to Ohio winters, so it will be interesting to see them react. When we went to Halloweekends, Kyuhun did not seem to be enjoying the weather in his huge winter coat. That was early October. HA, 40 degrees? Childsplay. Blah, rooms still a mess. Now I got an hour and 15 minutes before I gotta leave to work out. Then when we get back - hopefully shower and dye my hair n.n! Woo, I've wanted to dye my hair white since 6th Grade. I remember helping Mr. Keshock move something on the first Monday of Summer after getting my hair dyed by the place on the Boulevard. It was blonde :( Then I tried again the
